 Natia Beraia

 

               Biography

Georgian pianist Natia Beraia was born in 1986 Tbilisi, Georgia, to a family of musicians. At the age of 5, she received her first piano lessons from her mother and began her formal training at the Tbilisi Musical Gymnasium with Dodo Tsintsadze. Since their early childhood, she and her sister Tamar Beraia have performed together as a piano duo. In 2003, she enrolled in the piano studio of Nana Khubutia at the Tbilisi Sarajishvili State Conservatory. In 2013, Natia began working on her Ph.D. at Ilia State University.


Natia is a prize winner of many international competitions:

The Fourth Tbilisi International Competition WFMC (Tbilisi,Georgia 2009) Diploma and three special prizes for The Best Semifinalist, The Alfred Cortot Award – for the best performance of romantic music, Georgia’s First Lady’s Sympathy prize.

The Third International Piano Competition in Memory of Emil Gilels (Odessa, Ukraine 2006),Third Prize and the special prize The Best Female Pianist of the Competition.

The Third Tbilisi International Competition WFMC (Tbilisi, Georgia 2005), Diploma.

The First Tbilisi International Competition (Tbilisi, Georgia 2003), Second Prize.

N. Gabunia National Piano Competition (Tbilisi, Georgia 2001), Third Prize.

O. Taktakishvili National Piano Competition (Tbilisi, Georgia 2000), First Prize.


Natia Beraia holds the Lisa Leonskaia, M. Tariverdiev, and President of Georgia’s scholarships.


Natia Beraia is often invited to play at International Piano Festivals in many countries, including France, Germany, Italy, England, Switzerland, Serbia, Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, and the USA.
